EAVan

EAVan

Electric Assisted Vehicles Limited (EAV) introduced EAVan at the Said Oxford Business School Electric Vehicle Development Summit. This electric freight bike is designed to solve the problems of harmful emissions and congestion in cities overnight.

EAV refers to statistics according to which, 800 thousand people die every year in Europe due to climate change, including air pollution. The main sources of emissions are cars, vans and trucks. The EAVan, which is a cargo e-bike, can improve air quality and reduce congestion.

EAV recognizes that moving from traditional vans to electric EAVan will require the formation of a new behavioral culture. That is why EAVan, in fact, was born out of a rethinking of light commercial vehicles, not a bicycle.

The e-bike is based on a modular chassis with pedal drive and an electric motor powered by a compact traction battery. The load capacity of the EAVan is 120 kilograms, and the maximum speed is 25 kilometers per hour. Without recharging, you can drive about 100 kilometers.

The modularity of the body allows using EAVan in different cases — from a courier service van to an ambulance. In the future, it is planned to create more utilitarian versions: they will have doors, heating and air conditioning systems. The EAV plans to bring a large number of freight electric bicycles to the roads within five years.
