Arcimoto Pulse
In September 2009, Arcimoto showed the 3rd generation prototype, called the Pulse. The 3-wheel microcar for the first time has got 2 seats and received a fully enclosed body, created using parts from a recycled Toyota Yaris.
The car retained the overall layout, which was set by the first prototype. It has two wheels in the front and one in the back, an electric motor and the simplest design. Arcimoto Pulse had a range of 50-100 miles and a top speed of 55 mph. Its estimated price should be below $20,000.
The Pulse was equipped with an electric motor which is powered by 8 rechargeable 12 volt lead-acid batteries. They need only 6 hours to get juiced up.
This was cool small EV. Arcimoto planned to produce 300 copies for the first year (which should be 2011). But very soon company presented the 4th generation prototype which was closer to the SDK final version.
