Bugatti Baby II

Those who have a passion will certainly want to share it with their loved ones. This naturally also applies to car enthusiasts. Even Ettore Bugatti, the original founder of Bugatti company, had the money for his offspring. A few years after the introduction of his very successful Type 35, the small half-size version was made for his youngest son 4 year old son. For its 110th anniversary, the French car brand is breathing new life into the so-called Baby Bugatti.

Now Bugatti has decided to reintroduce the Baby. Just like the original, the Baby II also has an electric powertrain. The car comes straight out of the 3D printer and is equipped with a lithium-ion battery package, “regenerative braking” and even a limited slip differential. In contrast to the half-size original Baby, the Baby II is only 25 percent smaller than a Type 35. The car has three driving modes: in ‘child mode’ it runs at a maximum of 12 mph (20 km/h) at 1 kW, in ‘adult mode’ it has a top speed of 27 mph (45 km/h) at 4 kW. With the “speed key” the Baby II has 10 kW and there is no speed limit. How hard he can actually do is unknown.

The Baby II has a price tag that is worthy of the Bugatti name; customers can purchase one of the 500 copies for 30,000 euros (equal to $33,689).
