Dacia 500 Lăstun
A four-seat 3-door Dacia 500 Lăstun was created in the second half of the 80s. Romanian company Tehnometal from Timisoara was a subsidiary of the Romanian manufacturing association Automobile Dacia S.A.
Dacia 500 Lăstun was equipped with a 499 cc twin-cylinder engine rated at 22.5 hp. The body style was borrowed from the Italian car Lancia Y10, however, it was made of fiberglass, in contrast to the Italian car made of steel.
The car could reach 106 km/h, fuel consumption was 3.3 liters per 100 km, but due to engine defects, during road operations, the consumption could reach up to 9 liters. Dacia 500 Lăstun was presented in 1989 at the Industrial Exhibition in Bucharest. Production was started in 1988 and continued until 1992. A total of 6,532 vehicles of this model were assembled.
