FenGuang Mini EV

Witnessing the success of the Wuling HongGuang Mini EV, which is the best-selling electric vehicle in China, Dongfeng thought it would be a good idea to copy its recipe and announced the FenGuang Mini EV.

The new three-door hatchback with the full name Dongfeng FenGuang Mini EV has exactly the same form factor as the Wuling HongGuang Mini EV: cubic proportions, flat body panels, 12-inch wheels at the corners. The size of the newcomer almost repeats Wuling: length – 2995 mm, width – 1495 mm, height – 1640 mm. The wheelbase is only 1960 mm.

The body color palette will consist of pastel shades. The Dongfeng Fengguang Mini EV will have a 34 hp (25 kW) electric motor which is more than 27-horsepower engine of Wuling.

The Dongfeng FengGuang Mini EV will debut in the first quarter of 2022 with an affordable price that is expected to start from around $5,000. Besides the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, other competitors include the Chery QQ Ice Cream, the Baojun E300 EV, the Baizhi Daxiong, and the slightly larger Changan Benben E-Star.
