Fiat 600 Moretti Special

Published on

The Fiat 600 Moretti Special was produced in three distinct versions by the celebrated Turin-based coachbuilder and manufacturer Moretti, whose workshop on Via Monginevro was known for crafting elegant, upgraded interpretations of Fiat models.

Moretti offered customers a more refined, better-equipped Fiat 600 that could be purchased immediately— without factory wait times — but at a premium.

TIPO D

Price: 660,000 Lire (approximately 25,000 Euros)

The base TIPO D version featured a customizable roof color, chrome trim along the rain gutters, side windows, and body sides, as well as bumper embellishments, a locking trunk, and a hood support hook. Inside, a two-tone dashboard added a touch of sophistication. Whitewall tires were available as an optional extra.

TIPO E

Price: 720,000 Lire (approximately 27,000 Euros)

Building upon the TIPO D, the TIPO E added a chrome front grille, dividing side moldings for two-tone paint schemes, additional lower body trim, chrome spoked wheel covers, side-mounted turn indicators, and chrome headlight visors. Whitewall tires remained an optional feature.

GRAN LUSSO

Price: 770,000 Lire (approximately 28,875 Euros)

The top-tier GRAN LUSSO incorporated all the TIPO E’s refinements while offering further customization, including full-body paint in special colors, optional two-tone finishes, bumper guards, and two-tone vinyl upholstery. With the addition of extra accessories, the total price could rise to 1,195,000 Lire—equivalent to nearly 50,000 Euros today.

The Fiat 600 Moretti Special range combined everyday practicality with elevated style and craftsmanship. Each version was carefully tailored to individual tastes, showcasing Moretti’s hallmark attention to detail and offering discerning buyers a luxurious alternative to Fiat’s standard production models.
