1936 Simca 5
In 1934, Franco-Italian industrialist Henri Pigozzi founded the Société Industrielle de Mécanique et Carrosserie Automobile (SIMCA). To launch the new company, he secured a license to build the Fiat 500 Topolino in France.
Production ran from 1936 to 1949, spanning three main variants—sedan, convertible, and utility—with nearly 46,000 units produced, helping to make car ownership more accessible in France.
The example offered here was first registered during the model’s debut year. It later joined the collection of a Monaco-based enthusiast, who commissioned a full restoration by his mechanics.
Since then, the car has covered only a few kilometers and has spent most of its time on display in its current collection.
Before returning to regular use, the braking system will need attention, and one stud on the right rear wheel should be replaced.
It is hard to imagine another Simca 5 receiving such meticulous care and effort. For anyone seeking an outstanding, near-perfect example, this may well be it.
