Mini V8M
French company Lazareth Auto-Moto, known for the LMV 496 flying motorcycle, showed a Mini Moke restmode. It is fitted with a Maseratti engine under the hood.
Back in 2017, Lazareth Auto-Moto announced that it was going to build several amphibians, the basis of which would be a short-base Mini Moke. The project, apparently, did not find a continuation, but one of the finished bodies was adapted for the restomode.
Under the hood is a 4.7-liter V8 from Maserati GranTurismo is installed, giving out 460 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque. In addition, the Italian coupe shared with Moke a robotic transmission.
The authors of the project do not provide any technical data. However, it is known that the prototype weighs only 850 kilograms. This means it has 541 forces per ton – two times more than GranTurismo, which takes 4.7 seconds to accelerate to 62 mph (ca. 100 km/h).
The Mini Moke was designed by BMC, credited to Alec Issigonis and John Sheppard, as a light military vehicle sharing the Mini’s mechanicals. The British and US armies rejected it for its low ground clearance and power, so BMC sold it to civilians from 1963. Production ran until 1993, with about 14,500 built in Britain from 1964 to 1968, about 26,000 in Australia and about 10,000 in Portugal.
