A man from Ukraine has created an electric car with a range of 120 km
Taras Zemko from Ukraine is a music teacher, author and artist, but this man is not only attracted to musical instruments. He is also an engineer who has two vehicles in his portfolio. The man implemented the first idea in 2003 – it was a trailer for a bicycle, then Taras created a trailer for a car.
Taras was inspired to build a homemade electric car thanks to his young son, for whom the inventor built a three-wheeled pedal car. Then the bicycle was converted to electric traction.
The electric car got a new life during the pandemic, when Taras had a lot of free time. Components for an electric car cost 25,000 UAH or about $680.
The electric car has a range of 90 km and can reach a speed of up to 50 km/h. The car is well-known in Lviv region of Ukraine, so Taras is immediately recognized by other drivers and police patrols. Since the beginning of the war, Taras Zemko has started work on a four-wheeled model.
For the future electric car, the body was molded from 90 kg of clay, it cost the inventor just 800 UAH ($20). The car will have a 2 kW (2.7 hp) engine, can accelerate to 70 km/h, and have a range of 120 km. The battery is fully charged in 5 hours.
