1962 Fiat 600 Multipla
Introduced in 1956, the Fiat 600 Multipla marked a major milestone in automotive history as one of the first true one-box designs — a pioneering step toward the modern minivan. Based on the Fiat 600, it offered seating for up to six passengers within an extremely compact footprint, making it the world’s first production MPV.
Its simple yet ingenious architecture made it a familiar sight in Italian cities, serving both as a practical family car and as a popular taxi.
This example, believed to have been built in 1962, is finished in grey with a matching interior. The paintwork was refreshed recently, giving the car a neat overall presentation.
Originally registered in Italy, it has been in Monaco since 2004. The Monegasque registration document lists a first registration date of 1975 — an administrative error that does not reflect its true year of manufacture.
The Fiat 600 Multipla remains a distinctive and historically significant model, valued by collectors for its innovative design, charming simplicity, and important role in the evolution of family transport.
