Abarth 695 70°Anniversario
Abarth celebrates its 70s anniversary with the appropriate scope preparing various interesting models. At the Abarth Days fan meeting the company presented a hot hatch Abarth 695 70° Anniversario with a manually adjustable ‘Spoiler ad Assetto Variabile’. It has 12 positions with an angle of inclination from 0° to 60°.
The result of the innovation is quite noticeable on the ring. The company says that on the famous Curvone high-speed arc on the Autodromo Vallelunga in Campagnano di Roma, the spoiler allows the driver to “reduce steering correction by almost 40%.” Of course, such an advanced version of the Fiat 500 has got the most powerful engine in the modern hatchback range: a 1.4 turbo rated at 180 hp. and 250 N•m. The engine joined with the manual gearbox.
When raised, the spoiler generates downforce equivalent to 42 kg at a speed of 200 km/h. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h takes 6.7 s, and the maximum speed (with a spoiler in position 0°) reaches 225 km/h. The video also allows you to appreciate the rich sound that you do not expect from a 1.4 engine. Thanks to the Record Monza switchable exhaust system.
The designers presented the Monza 1958 new green livery to the anniversary car, in memory of the first Abarth 500 models that set several records that year. Light gray accents stand out against the green background, in particular the splitter, spoiler, sills and arches, the checkered flag on the roof and the Abarth’s scorpion on the hood. The anniversary model got 17-inch black SuperSport rims, red Brembo calipers with 305/240 mm diameter brake discs.
Specially designed Sabelt Tricolore seats and a commemorative plate of the anniversary series and the scorpion badge settled in the car’s interior. The car is equipped with a Uconnect multimedia system with a seven-inch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces, a digital DAB radio and a navigation system. The hot hatch also got Abarth Telemetry app and climate control, LED foglights and special floor mats. Abarth 695 70° Anniversario will be produced in a limited quantity of 1949 pieces, based on the year the brand was founded.
