The growing popularity of electric quadricycles has created a new wave of compact urban vehicles aimed at young drivers and people without a full driving license.

One of the latest examples is the Smart 4Teen, a modern reinterpretation of the original Smart ForTwo developed through a collaboration between Aznom Automotive and Newtron, which previously revived the first-generation ForTwo produced between 2003 and 2007.

Power comes from a 15 kW electric motor paired with an 11.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. The vehicle can be configured in two different versions depending on the driver’s age and local licensing regulations.

The L6e version can be driven from the age of 14 in countries where regulations permit. Its top speed is limited to 45 km/h, while the claimed driving range reaches up to 140 km on a single charge. Drivers aged 16 and older can opt for the more powerful L7e version, which increases the top speed to 90 km/h, although range drops to around 90 km.

The battery can be recharged using both household outlets and public charging stations, making the vehicle practical for everyday urban use. Unlike many other electric quadricycles, the Smart 4Teen retains the safety features of the original Smart ForTwo, giving it a more comprehensive level of occupant protection.

Buyers can also personalize the vehicle with a choice of exterior colors, interior trim materials, and other customization options.

Prices start at €24,339, placing it well above most competing electric quadricycles, although the manufacturer says the higher-quality materials, equipment, and safety features justify the premium.
