Bontu BT09

Bontu BT09

Chinese automaker Bontu, officially operating as Shandong Bontu New Energy Vehicle Industry, is preparing to enter the European market with a range of compact electric quadricycles.

One of the models in Bontu’s range is the BT09, the lightweight electric quadricycle aimed at younger drivers.

It features a playful design with smooth, flowing lines and is slightly smaller than the BT05, measuring 2,750 mm in length. The more compact dimensions mean it is offered exclusively as a two-seater, with a small luggage compartment behind the cabin.

Power comes from a flat-wire permanent magnet synchronous electric motor available in two versions. The L6e model is electronically limited to 45 km/h, allowing it to be driven by drivers as young as 14 in markets where regulations permit. The L7e variant increases the top speed to 75 km/h and can be driven from the age of 16.

The L6e version is fitted with a 7.68-kWh battery that provides a claimed driving range of up to 130 km. The L7e model offers up to 150 km of range and can be fully recharged in around three hours.

Despite its compact size, the BT09 comes well equipped with ABS, EBD, electric power steering, hill-start assist, a rearview parking camera, and a 10-inch display that combines the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system.
