Hyundai E3W / E4W
Hyundai has created an electric-powered rickshaw. The Korean auto giant has revealed concepts of two electric rickshaws. The three- and four-wheeled concepts, named E3W and E4W respectively, are developed in partnership with TVS Motor Company in India. They have an electric powertrain and adjustable ground clearance, which will come in handy during the rainy season. Several state-of-the-art solutions for driver and passenger comfort are also promised.
The three-wheeled E3W adopts the features of classic rickshaws, but in a reinterpreted form. At the front, the concept has a strongly sloped windshield, small LED headlights and a customizable scoreboard that can display any text. The wheels are slightly larger than those of a regular rickshaw; there’s a comfortable driver’s seat with a smartphone holder and even a tow hook.
The electric wagon has adjustable ground clearance, which will help it navigate flooded roads during the rainy season. Hyundai is also working on water-resistant interior materials and is going to paint the roof with a special paint to make it less hot.
The four-wheeler variant gets the same options and an extra seat in front. Details about the concepts hasn’t revealed yet. The E3W version wants to be sold exclusively in India, while the E4W may appear in other countries as well.
