Jiangbei JJ710 Prototype
In 1986, the State Operated Jiangbei Machinery Works in Jilin City, Jilin Province, began developing two projects simultaneously. One was a replica of the Polski-Fiat 126P, known as the Jiangbei JJ710. The other project aimed to replicate the Subaru Rex/Jumbo and was named the JJ720.
The 126p was once very popular in the country. It was also the first car available to private car owners in China. After the completion of the first prototype of the JJ710, the decision was made to continue development of the JJ720 and stop the JJ710 project.
