Liux Geko
Spanish start-up Liux has unveiled its second model, the two-seater electric city car Geko. The brand was first announced last fall. That’s when the spectacular Animal electric hatchback made its debut. Production of the model was scheduled to start in 2024, but as it turned out, the launch of the series was postponed. Geko will be the first to roll off the assembly line.
The novelty will be certified as an electric quadricycle of the L7e class. Its external design resembles the Smart EQ Fortwo. The company relies on environmentally friendly materials: natural resins, plant fibers, wood, biopolymers and biocomposites. The body of the Geko is made of composite material based on linen fibers. The EV is based on a simple platform of “conventional” materials (metal alloy). The body of the removable modular battery is made of a composite based on natural materials. The Liux Geko has a kerb weight of 550 kg.
Total length of the mini electric car – 2700 mm, width – 1500 mm. The power of a single electric motor will not exceed 20 hp. The maximum speed is limited to 100 km/h.
The capacity of the removable battery is 13 kWh. According to the manufacturer, the battery is sufficient for 150 km of driving. An additional battery module can be installed for a fee. It is not excluded that the list of options will appear active and passive safety systems, although there are no requirements for quad bikes.
The cost of the Liux Geko and the date of launch have not yet been announced.
