Sinclar C5 test-drive — the biggest motoring failure

The 3rd season of Jason’s Drive from Jalopnik starts with the test-drive of an amazing 1985 Sinclair C5. Its not really a car, and not really a scooter, or a motorcycle, or even a moped. Its a kind of a vehicle and that’s actually the preffered term for it according to Clive Sinclar — a British guy who inveted this thing.

The idea was to built an easy and cheap electric car that people could use for going to and from work, and driving like a normal city car. The chassis was actually designed by Lotus with Y-shaped aluminium frame. The motor is a little electric motor making 0.34 horsepower.
