Bouffort Transville
Victor Bouffort developed automobiles as early as 1945, starting with a fairly well-known aerodynamically streamlined tricycle car, with a Y-frame and butterfly doors, nearly 10 years before Mercedes, fitted with a Citroën Traction Avant engine. He also designed several prototype city cars – City-Car, Enville and Transville.
Do not be fooled by this little car’s diminutive Corvair line; it appeared in 1959, while the Chevrolet arrived in showrooms only in September the same year. Its distinctive feature is a backward-slanted rear window.
Bouffort Transville had 4 wheels, 2 canopy doors, 2 seats inside and a rear-located 2cv engine. The only prototype was made.
