1967 Austin Mini Moke

1967 Austin Mini Moke

For sale

This 1967 Austin Mini Moke is a left-hand-drive US-market example, acquired by the current owner in 1996 after earlier refurbishment work. It carries a replacement 998cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle and is finished in green with black vinyl upholstery.

Equipment includes a black Bimini-style soft top, tubular bumpers, 13-inch Minitor wheels, a leather-wrapped Mountney steering wheel, a tachometer, and front lap belts. The Moke is offered on dealer consignment with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate and a clean Pennsylvania title.

Originally delivered in Spruce Green, the car received a repaint during its refurbishment. Exterior details include dual side mirrors, tubular bumpers, and the removable Bimini-style roof.

The 13-inch Minitor wheels are fitted with 175/50 Nankang tires. Braking is handled by drums on all four corners; the rear wheel cylinders were rebuilt and the system flushed in preparation for the sale.

The utilitarian cabin features four low-back bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl, with lap belts for the front passengers.

A Mountney steering wheel faces a centrally mounted 95-mph speedometer supplemented by auxiliary gauges, while a tachometer is fitted to the steering column. The five-digit odometer shows 9,000 miles, around 50 of which were added by the current owner; true mileage is unknown.

The replacement 998cc A-series inline-four was installed prior to 1996. An oil change was recently completed ahead of the sale.

Power is sent to the front wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.

The accompanying BMIHT certificate lists the car’s original equipment and confirms it was dispatched to New York on December 10, 1965.

The serial number on the car does not include the “L” suffix shown on the certificate; the document notes this under “Discrepancy in Record.”
