Ford Pockar

Ford Pockar

The Ford Pockar—short for “pocket car”—was a compact, narrow, yet surprisingly tall vehicle finished in a beige exterior.

Its most distinctive feature was the integrated luggage compartments built into the exterior door panels.

Each side door was split horizontally, with the lower section folding down like a tailgate to reveal the storage space within.

In addition to these lockable side-door compartments, the car offered generous interior luggage space and seating for four passengers.

The rear seat could be folded flat, transforming the Pockar into a van-like configuration for extra cargo capacity. Cleverly, the door-mounted compartments extended slightly into the interior, doubling as armrests.

The dashboard featured a cluster of electronic instruments arranged in a semi-circular pod, easily visible through the upper half of the steering wheel. This combination of innovative storage solutions and compact design made the Pockar a highly practical microcar.
