Daihatsu Cuore Boneschi

The Daihatsu Cuore Boneschi was a one-off concept created by Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Boneschi on the basis of the standard Daihatsu Cuore. It made its public debut at the 1992 Turin Motor Show, where it served as a showcase for Boneschi’s design flair and traditional craftsmanship.

Founded in 1919 near Milan, Carrozzeria Boneschi built a long-standing reputation for bespoke bodies and special projects developed in collaboration with various car manufacturers.

The Cuore Boneschi reflects this philosophy, reinterpreting an existing production model through distinctive styling and a more expressive design approach.

Detailed technical specifications and styling descriptions of the concept are scarce, but its appearance at a major international motor show underlines its relevance within automotive design circles of the time.

Like many concept cars, the Cuore Boneschi functioned as an experimental exercise, exploring new aesthetic ideas rather than signaling an imminent production model.

The compact and efficient Daihatsu Cuore provided an ideal foundation for such an experiment, allowing Boneschi to focus on form and character. This project also illustrates a broader tradition of collaboration between manufacturers and Italian coachbuilders, aimed at pushing beyond conventional design boundaries.

Although it remained a one-off, the Daihatsu Cuore Boneschi stands as a small yet telling example of the creativity and imagination that defined early-1990s automotive design and the enduring influence of Italian coachbuilding.
