Daihatsu Sneaker

Daihatsu Sneaker was a quirky concept microcar notable for its unusual fifth wheel mounted at the rear, designed specifically to make parking in extremely tight spaces easier.

This extra wheel could be deployed to help pivot the car into narrow spots, underlining its urban-focused character.

The Sneaker was shown at the 1989 Tokyo Motor Show and was often described as an electric vehicle, although the technical details point to a more conventional setup.

The car featured a front-mounted three-cylinder OHC engine with a displacement of 547 cc, producing 32 hp at 6000 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm.

Despite its compact mechanicals, the Sneaker was thoughtfully packaged, measuring 2910 mm in length, 1395 mm in width, and 1545 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1900 mm.
