Endre Surányi dwarf cars
Everlasting, bohemian, versatile – Endre Surányi (1913-1996), who was a “garage master of Rákosi” and a dwarf car-builder and inventor. After the Second World War, the young technician was employed by the Institute of Automotive Scientific Research.
In 1946, he built his first dwarf car with a 50 cm³ engine. Later, another microcar was built with a 125 cm³ engine. His last such creation was a 250 cm³ car.
The nationalized János Csonka Machine Factory, renamed MITÉSZ Engine and Machine Factory, was seriously considering the possibility of manufacturing one of these microcars. But the Suranyi dwarfs remained unique pieces.
