$11,900: two-seater compact electric car Eli ZERO was officially shown
Eli has officially introduced its updated ZERO compact electric car to the US market. Prospective buyers must make a deposit of $200 to reserve the car at a price of $11,900. It is expected that deliveries of the new product will begin in the third quarter of 2024.
Due to high demand for the new product, Eli has increased the production capacity of its factory to 4,000 EVs per year and will use a dealer model to sell and distribute the ZERO in the US.
“Our goal is to transform urban travel by allowing drivers to reconnect with pedestrians with compact and maneuverable electric vehicles that make better use of urban space, reduce congestion, facilitate parking and, ultimately, improve the quality of life in cities,” the company said.
It is interesting that the two-seat car has a rather capacious battery. The battery with a capacity of 8 kWh is designed for a range of up to 100 km, but the company announced that the American model will have an even greater range of 145 km. The on-board charger with a capacity of 3.2 kW can charge the car in less than three hours.
The maximum speed is limited to 40 km/h in accordance with federal regulations for the class of vehicles. In addition to two fairly traditional car seats, there is a trunk for 160 liters.
Despite its modest dimensions, Eli ZERO has air conditioning, a heater, keyless entry, power steering, anti-lock braking system, electronic parking brake, rearview camera, sunroof and Sony infotainment system with CarPlay and Android Auto.
