You can now buy the perfect Autobianchi Bianchina from RM Sotheby’s Paris
If you were a stylish Italian who wanted to buy a microcar in the 1960s, Fiat 500 probably was not a good choice, so you should ordered Autobianchi Bianchina. This cool car is based on the Fiat 500 chassis and fitted with the same 17 hp engine, but looks much more interesting. It is known as ‘the rich man’s Fiat’.
This coupe with a fabric soft top was presented in 1960 following the success of the Transformable. It was popular among celebrities. Even the great Brigitte Bardot drove one.
The example you see on the photos is the 3rd generation with 499 cc air-cooled engine rated at 21.5 hp. It has top speed of only 60 mph and was too slow on the increase. If you’re a stylish collector with need for a jaunty motorcar to zip around European city traffic or cruise along the French Riviera, this Bianchina might just be the one that you want. It will be sold during RM Sotheby’s Paris on the 7th of February with the price of 25,000-30,000 euros.
