1972 Fiat 500

Sold for 8000 - 14000 EUR

Unveiled at the 1965 Geneva Motor Show, the Fiat 500F addressed several drawbacks of the outgoing D version. It introduced front-hinged doors, a wider windshield, and a more refined, modernised cabin. Its lively 18-hp twin-cylinder engine also gave the little Italian city car a renewed sense of energy, and period journalists praised it as the moment when the Nuova 500 truly came into its own.

The example offered here, body number 0415, was delivered new to Bari in October 1972. Many years later, a French collector discovered it during a trip to Italy and bought it as a gift for his wife. Refurbishment work included a new wiring harness, a refreshed soft top and engine, and, in April 2022, a replacement front brake kit.

Purchased by its current owner at a Paris auction in 2023, it was registered as a French collector’s vehicle and then fully overhauled. To elevate its presentation, the red skai upholstery was completely renewed, giving the interior an even more appealing finish.

The engine runs beautifully and starts instantly. Light, nimble and genuinely enjoyable to drive, its road manners remain true to the charm that made the 500 such a beloved city car.

As a blend of late-series mechanical improvements and the attractive early-series dashboard, this Fiat 500 110F offers a particularly appealing mix—an economical, iconic and undeniably graceful slice of Italian motoring history.
