DriveIt L-Type
The new L-Type electric car developed by the Obukhov Plant of Almaz-Antey Concern was shown at the exhibition-forum “Russia” in Moscow. The car was presented as part of a special exposition held on November 24.
The L-Type looks exactly the same as on the renderings. According to the description, it is an urban compact electric car for corporate fleets with short-distance transportation: last-mile delivery, service of closed areas, city service and car sharing. It falls under the L7 category (heavy quadricycles).
Two versions are available: two-seat passenger or one-seat cargo. Overall length, width and height are 2.5 meters, 1.5 meters and 1.5 meters respectively. The range is 183 km. The traction electric motor receives energy from 6 battery modules with a capacity of 2.66 kWh each.
The “trick” of the design is the technology of quick battery replacement, which allows to operate the electric car practically without downtime (empty modules are replaced by pre-charged ones): six lightweight modules are swapped in five minutes. Charging of battery modules is provided in specially designed charging stations (charging cabinets).
The quadricycle is made of Russian components for easy availability of spare parts. The start of production of L-Type is scheduled for 2024.
