Suzuki Elia

Suzuki Elia

The Suzuki Elia concept debuted at the 1987 Tokyo Motor Show, immediately standing out thanks to its compact yet assertive off-road-inspired design.

Despite its small footprint, the Elia made a bold visual statement, most notably through its wraparound bumper, which was dramatically broken up by the lines of unusually long doors.

The layout was strictly two-seat, but Suzuki still managed to incorporate a usable trunk, reinforcing the idea that practicality hadn’t been completely sacrificed for style.

Another distinctive detail was the three-slot front grille, a feature that seemed to hint at what lay under the hood.

Mounted at the front was a turbocharged three-cylinder engine with a displacement of 543 cubic centimeters. It produced 48 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm, suggesting lively performance for such a small and lightweight concept.

In terms of size, the Elia measured 3195 mm in length, 1395 mm in width, and 1390 mm in height, giving it compact proportions well suited to its urban-meets-off-road character.
