Suzuki CT-1

The 1997 Suzuki CT-1 Concept was an electric city transporter that combined the loading capacity of a small truck with the practicality of a van.

Suzuki presented it as a look at what compact delivery vehicles might become in the near future, with an ecological powertrain and advanced onboard multimedia equipment.

The CT-1 measured 3,500 mm in length, 1,550 mm in width, and 1,850 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,760 mm. It was designed for two passengers and used an electric motor with a 3-speed automatic transmission and column shift. Its suspension setup used MacPherson struts at the front and a double-wishbone layout at the rear.

For its energy storage, the CT-1 used valve-regulated nickel-metal hydride batteries, and it was said to have a range of up to 240 km. The concept also featured 145R12LT tires at the front and 165/60R12 tires at the rear.

One of its most practical details was a sliding screen door, which made unloading possible even in a narrow passage between houses.
