Leap T03
The Chinese company Leap Motor built a five-door hatchback on a T-platform. Its electric motor produces 55 kW (75 hp, 155 N•m). A battery with a capacity of 31 or 38 kWh guarantees a range of 300 or 403 km according to the NEDC cycle.
Sales in China should start between April and June, dealers have already received first samples. However, the T03 was created specifically for the Mydadao car-sharing network, which, incidentally, ordered a three-door version.
Length, width, height – 3620×1652×1577 mm, wheelbase – 2400 mm. Tire dimensions – 165/65 R15. Charging connectors are hidden in the hatch on the nose. The second-level autopilot relies on three cameras, a radar, 11 ultrasonic sensors, cruise control and a lane keeping system.
The body is painted in five colors: white, gray, black, bright yellow and purple. The roof remains black, even if it is panoramic with a sunroof (620×660 mm). The mirror housings are also always black.
The interior, trimmed with hard plastic and synthetic leather, is designed for four passengers. The diagonal of digital instrument panel is 8 inches, the central touchscreen is 10.1 in. The right steering column control selector is used to choose transmission mode.
Among other options of the Leap T03 are LED optics, an automatic parking system and a face recognition system that seems to be able to identify the driver, even if he puts on his hat, glasses and a wig.
For some reason, no one can predict the base price of the hatchback, although you can look at the competitors: Ora R1 “starts” from 69,800 yuan (9855 USD), Chery eQ – from 65,800 (9290 USD), BYD e1 – from 59,900 (8460 USD).
