Lingbao Box

In 2020, Lingbao Auto introduced the Box electric hatchback. Look at his fun exterior design – it’s the copy of 2015 Daihatsu Cast, but there are no interchangeable parts with Daihatsu.

The overall dimensions of the Lingbao Box are 3460×1475×1615 mm, respectively. The wheelbase is 2455 mm and it is exactly matches the original Daihatsu Cast, while length, width and height of the Japanese car is 3395, 1475 and 1630 mm, respectively. It is curious that the Chinese designers copied not only the exterior, but the interior also.

The Lingbao Box is powered by a 45 kW (61 hp) electric motor with a torque of 150 Nm. It is fitted with a lithium-iron-phosphate battery with a capacity of 17.69 kWh, which provides a range of up to 150 km. In China, a fake “Daihatsu” will cost about 45,000 yuan, or 6395 USD.

Lingbao Auto was established in August 2018. The Box is its first product. In the future it plans to produce a wide range of cars and light commercial electric vehicles. The company has already built a plant with a capacity of 50,000 cars per year, the amount of investment in the project reaches 2 billion yuan (= $285,000,000).
