Citroen to produce additional 1000 copies of My Ami Buggy
In 2021, the Citroen introduced a prototype of the “off-road” electric car My Ami. The fans appreciated the idea and the company decided to start producing of the unusual version. The new Citroen My Ami Buggy was released in a limited edition of fifty copies, all of which were available exclusively online. The batch was instantly sold out. The company desided to make additional batch in 2023.
Equipped with an 8-horsepower electric motor and a 5.5 kilowatt-hour battery, the electric car travels up to 75 kilometers without recharging with a maximum speed of 42 kilometers per hour. The EV has a roll-cage instead of doors, a sliding fabric roof, black accents on the body and bright interior decor, combined with golden 14-inch wheels.
The first 50 copies found their owners in 17 minutes and 28 seconds, and the fastest buyer placed an order in just 2 minutes 53 seconds. In August, customers started receiving their Citroen My Ami Buggy and by the end of 2022, all electric vehicles have found their owners. In 2023, another thousand EVs will enter the market, which everyone can buy in a live queue format.
At the same time, Citroen promised that the owners of the first 50 copies of My Ami Buggy will not lose the status of the owner of exclusive models, since the new electric vehicles will differ in design. Detailed information about the pre-released Citroen My Ami Buggy is not yet available. Details on the new electric vehicles and what their exclusive “few surprise features” will offer are expected to be revealed early next year.
