Daihatsu Tanto Custom Kuromeki
Rounding out the lineup—quite literally—is another Kuromeki concept presented at the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon, this one based on the Tanto Custom.
Tailored for after-dark city cruising, it features a completely reworked front end dominated by an enormous grille that stretches across nearly the entire bumper.
Borrowing cues from full-size luxury minivans like the Toyota Vellfire but shrunk to kei-car proportions, the result feels almost surreal. The nose is essentially all grille, framed by slim vertical DRLs and a low splitter that exaggerates the van’s perceived width.
Additional touches include a redesigned rear garnish, new wheels, side skirts, a rear spoiler, and a bespoke interior finished in grey and purple upholstery.
