Daihatsu Waku Waku Concept

Japanese car shows regularly become the arena to showcase the most unexpected and extravagant concepts. Daihatsu Waku Waku concept which was presented at the Tokyo auto show in 2019 is a K-SUV (kei-class SUV), “expanding the gaming world.” Cubic design and short overhangs allow you to use more space inside. The trunk under the lifting roof and rear cargo compartment with a side bench should accommodate a lot of luggage for outdoor recreation.

The Waku Waku is only 3,395 mm long, but it looks like a real offroader. Its interior is decorated with cheerful orange plastic. The roof is divided into two parts: there is panoramic glazing in the front, and an integrated box with a lifting cover in the rear.

There is a high angular five-door body, and there are no windows on the rear doors – they are replaced by plastic plugs of bright orange color. The roof, the trim panels of the rear of the passenger compartment and some accents on the outside and inside are painted in the same color. The car interior is made of special easy-to-wash materials. Even the floor is covered not with carpets, but with a rubber coating.
