Livan Smurf
Geely-owned brand Livan is preparing to launch an electric microcar on the Chinese market that could rival the country’s popular Wuling Hongguang Mini EV.
The angular hatchback has been named Smurf, after the characters from Belgian comics. The Livan Smurf is essentially a rebadged version of the Geely Panda Mini, which has been in production in several versions since 2022.
The main differences are its bumpers and a distinctive two-tone paint scheme inspired by the appearance of the fictional creatures with blue skin and white clothing.
The hatchback measures just 3100×1558×1610 mm, with a wheelbase of 2015 mm. Despite its compact size, the cabin, like in the Panda Mini, accommodates four passengers.
The car is certified with 14-inch wheels and a single electric motor producing a peak output of 41 hp. Top speed will be 100 km/h.
The lithium iron phosphate battery is supplied by Gotion, though its exact capacity and driving range have not yet been disclosed. For reference, the Geely Panda Mini’s top-spec version uses a 17 kWh pack, providing up to 210 km of range under China’s CLTC cycle.
The equipment list is expected to include air conditioning, Bluetooth, and an app for remotely unlocking the doors, opening the trunk, and controlling other functions. The interior will be offered in three color schemes: Sakura Pink, Castle Grey, and Forest Green.
