The Volkswagen Student is a 1982 concept car created as Volkswagen’s second attempt at producing a low-cost city model positioned below the Golf.

Using the Polo’s 1.1-liter engine and drivetrain, it was introduced to the press as a practical and affordable urban vehicle, but the project never moved into production.

The Student made its public debut at the 1983 Frankfurt Motor Show.
