Mova — what a modern successor to the Piaggio truck could be like
In crowded cities, making deliveries has become increasingly challenging. Narrow streets, congested bike lanes, and restricted zones make it difficult for traditional vans to operate efficiently, often causing delays and traffic jams.
To tackle these problems, designers are turning to smaller, smarter, and more agile vehicles for urban logistics. One standout concept is MOVA, a compact three-wheeled vehicle designed to make deliveries faster, safer, and more efficient.
MOVA draws inspiration from the Piaggio Ape, the classic three-wheeled utility vehicle introduced in 1948, celebrated for its compact size and practicality.

Developed by Brazilian designer Pedro Henrique Lides in Milan, MOVA blends this legacy with modern technology to create a highly maneuverable solution for last-mile delivery in dense, historic, and restricted-traffic areas.
Measuring just 3,280 by 1,600 millimeters (129 by 63 inches), MOVA’s three-wheeled platform allows it to easily navigate narrow streets and intersections.
It’s envisioned with the ability to rotate 360 degrees on its axis, enabling delivery workers to park in tight spots, approach curbs directly, and stop without obstructing traffic.

The concept also introduces a smart cargo system featuring motorized rails, retractable belts, and a Pack Motion function, streamlining loading and unloading while keeping packages organized and secure. This reduces delivery times and helps couriers work more efficiently, even under heavy workloads.
Safety is another focus of MOVA’s design. A Smart Cylinder integrates cameras, radar, lidar, and daytime running lights to continuously monitor the surroundings, alerting operators to pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles, and minimizing collision risks in crowded areas.
The name MOVA reflects its philosophy: movement, agility, smart technology, and modular utility.
Although still a concept with no disclosed motor or battery details, MOVA demonstrates a bold vision for the future of urban logistics—a sustainable, agile, and intelligent vehicle capable of tackling the challenges of city deliveries.
