Fiat Citycar

This compact two-seat Fiat Citycar was conceived as an all-electric concept, powered by a DC motor presented in 1972. It weighed 820 kilograms, with 166 kilograms accounted for by the nickel–zinc battery pack.

Performance figures included a claimed top speed of 75 km/h, acceleration from 0 to 50 km/h in 12 seconds, and a driving range of about 75 kilometers at a steady 50 km/h, or roughly 50 kilometers in typical urban use.

The front-mounted DC electric motor delivered 10 kW of continuous power and up to 18 kW at peak output, while regenerative braking helped replenish the 105-volt battery pack during deceleration.

The Fiat Citycar later evolved into the Fiat X 1/23.
