Fiat Multiplina

FIAT has confirmed the name of its new urban electric vehicle: instead of the working title Quattrolino, the model will be released as Multiplina.

The reference is clear—to the FIAT 600 Multipla of the 1950s, a strange, practical, and very Italian machine. A small body, a big idea. Sometimes FIAT pulls this off better than those trying to make “premium” out of every piece of plastic.

Multiplina will not be a light L6e quadricycle like the Topolino, but a heavier L7e vehicle. The difference matters: the Topolino is limited to 45 km/h and designed for two people, while the Multiplina will be capable of reaching up to 90 km/h and will offer four seats.

This is no longer an electric capsule for a waterfront stroll or a quick coffee run. It is more of a middle ground between a micromobility vehicle and a conventional A-segment car.

The launch is expected in 2028. In terms of pricing, the Multiplina is expected to sit between the €9,990 Topolino and the upcoming electric Pandina at around €15,000. A logical estimate would be about €13,000, with the Dacia Hipster mentioned as its main competitor.
