Daihatsu Ico Ico

Daihatsu Ico Ico was created for the Japanese who want to be able to ride independently, regardless of age, as well as the availability of personal vehicles and a driver license. This autonomous shuttle is a transport to cover the last mile. Due to its small width (1475 mm), it is suitable for narrow roads of city centers. The concept is equipped with a retractable wheelchair ramp which allows for easy ingress-egress, particularly for wheelchair users.

There is a talking Nipote companion robot (‘Nipote’ translates from Italian as ‘grandson’) which is intended to help older people, children and tourists during a trip. Nipote understands not only Japanese, but also other common languages of the world. You can ask him for a convenient route or a specific address.

Daihatsu does not say how many people the Ico Ico can transport but looking at the photos it appears to be a four-seater. The length, width and height of IcoIco are 3395, 1475 and 1995 mm, respectively.
