NIU TQi-GT

Chinese manufacturer Niu introduced the TQi-GT three-wheeled electric scooter at the CES 2020. Mass production of the new model is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2020. The three-wheeled closed electric scooter is equipped with roll compensation and autonomous driving as standard.

The TQi-GT won’t drive autonomously yet, but it should be able to park on its own. With a padded seat, a large windshield and a fairing around the legs, the electic scooter seems suitable for driving in bad weather conditions. Niu also calls the scooter the “Urban Performance Electric Commuter”.

However, a little can be said about performance, because here the company is silent about many technical details. It is said that the electric motor is installed in the rear and comes from Bosch – but there are no technical specifications. The maximum speed, as they say, is 80 km/h, and the range is about 240 km, which is enough for a whole week of driving to and from work. There are no information about batteries and a charger.

Last, but certainly not least, 5G connectivity translates to real-time vehicle diagnostics, remote start, and over-the-air updates for the three-wheeler.
