Mini Mk3 with a Honda engine

Gilred Racing swapped this Mini with a Honda D16

Gildred Racing, based in Buellton, California, has transformed this Mini Mk3. The car now boasts a sleek appearance, with the body coated in a mesmerizing matte black paint and adorned with attractive gloss black racing stripes.

Under the hood, Gildred Racing replaced the factory A-Series inline-four and transmission with a powerful 1.6L Honda D16Y8 inline-four and a smooth five-speed manual transmission. With this Honda powertrain, the car now produces an impressive 150-160 hp (111-119 kW) and is 20 lb (9 kg) lighter than the previous version.

Weighing in at 725 kg (1600 lb), this Mini glides smoothly on its coil-over suspension, which is further enhanced by a set of stylish Classic 8 13×6-inch wheels.

Inside, Gildred Racing has added a touch of luxury with the installation of an R53 Mini power moon roof, complemented by a custom black interior and comfortable Cobra seats. The Momo steering wheel sits in front of a stunning Dakota Digital VHX gauge cluster mounted on a stylish tile column.
