Fiat 600 D Berlinetta Aerodinamica Modello ‘Y’

Pininfarina’s new Project Y follows last year’s experimental Project X, which featured fore and aft wheels positioned along the centerline with two mid-mounted side wheels.

The latest design adopts a more conventional wheel layout and is built on the Fiat 600D platform. It retains the prominent tail fins—housing the slim rear indicators—which may offer useful insights into improving directional stability in rear-engined cars.

As Project Y moves the series forward, the forthcoming Project Z is expected to serve as the final exploration in the sequence, presenting Pininfarina’s ultimate theoretical form.
