1977 Leyland Mini 1000 Pick-Up

1977 Leyland Mini 1000 Pick-Up

Rebuilt in 2002, this 1,340cc Mini Pick-Up is a beautifully presented example that delivers classic “quick Mini” performance wrapped in pure nostalgia.

Produced by Leyland Cars, the Mini Pick-Up blended the charm and agility of the standard Mini with the practicality of a light commercial vehicle—qualities that make it a rare and appealing sight on modern roads.

Finished in an attractive colour scheme and sitting on Minilite alloy wheels with Yokohama tyres, this example presents exceptionally well following its comprehensive restoration. Under the bonnet lies a 1,340cc A-Series engine with a big-valve cylinder head, paired with a manual gearbox. During its rebuild, both subframes and the A-frame were replaced.

The restoration was carried out in 2002 by the brother of the late Roger Clark MBE, the celebrated rally driver whose passion and meticulous attention to detail are well recognized among Mini enthusiasts.

Originally supplied in the UK and first registered on 1 November 1977, the car shows 52,874 miles at the time of cataloguing. It is offered with an extensive and detailed history file, making this Mini Pick-Up a rare opportunity to own a carefully restored, well-documented example of this practical and iconic British classic.

Sold for £15,750 at the The Classic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2025 by Iconic Auctions.
