Fiat 600 Modello “E” / “V” by Francis Lombardi

Francis Lombardi was arguably the coachbuilder who most extensively customized the Fiat 600. Alongside his well-known creations such as the Spring, Lucciola, and Maggiolina, Lombardi also produced two more accessible versions of the enhanced Fiat 600 — the Modello “E” and Modello “V”.

Modello “E”

Price: 700,000 Lire (approx. 26,000 Euros)

The Modello “E” combined the standard Fiat lower body color with a customer-specified Lunalcrome-painted roof.

It featured a distinctive front grille with a central fog light, side moldings with integrated indicators, chrome trim separating the two-tone paint, and polished rain gutters.

Additional details included a locking engine lid with a support rod, chrome headlight visors, bright window surrounds, chrome hood hinges, and a chromed exhaust tip. Inside, the car offered washable two-tone seat upholstery and a rear luggage rail.

Whitewall tires were available as an option, and a “Trasformabile” version with a sunroof could be ordered for an extra 45,000 Lire.

Modello “V”

Price: 710,000 Lire (approx. 26,600 Euros)

The Modello “V” was distinguished by its full two-tone Lunalcrome paint scheme. It carried a chrome front grille, bright trim on the side moldings and rain gutters, and decorative chrome separating the two paint colors at the front.

Other details included a supported engine lid and rectangular front indicators. The cabin featured washable imitation leather seat covers and a luggage rail, with optional whitewall tires available.

Through the Modello “E” and “V”, Francis Lombardi offered Fiat 600 buyers a touch of exclusivity — blending elegant styling and added comfort with the practicality of Fiat’s beloved city car.
