A New Kei-car From Russia is in Development
These are the slides from the factory presentation of Avtotor. They shed light on how the city electric car promised by the Russian company will look like.
Judging by the images, the electric car has a one-volume three-door body and a four-seat interior, the car will have an overall length of about 3 meters. The frame is made of high-strength aluminum-magnesium alloy profiles and molded aluminum parts. The elements are connected to each other by laser welding. External panels are made of composites – polypropylene and polycarbonate. It is claimed that the weight of the body is only 106 kg, while it is 79% recyclable.
In the prime cost of the car, the most expensive elements will be the traction battery (37%) and the body (21%). The electric car is a completely original development based on Russian components. Most of the details will be made in Kaliningrad, Russia, where the company is based.
In terms of weight and size indicators, the promising car will be close to the format of Japanese kei cars. Earlier it was reported that the Avtotor city electric car will start production in 2023.
