Chery has presented Chery QQ Ice Cream electric car in China with the sales started in August at a price of $4,600. The new EV will compete with the Wuling HongGuang MINI EV, which is offered at a price of $4,500 and is in high demand.
The original Chery QQ model came out in 2003. It was almost completely copied the Daewoo Matiz car, but due to the price it became very popular. The second generation, already with the original design, came out in 2013, but the car was sold only in China.
Chery QQ Ice Cream will receive a body with three doors and very small wheels, while the front will have LED daytime running lights of the original shape, which will be duplicated on the taillights.
The car will be available in seven colors: tarot purple, light lotus, mint green, coconut white, lemon yellow, cherry and navy blue. The features of the car include remote access from a smartphone, as well as the Chery iCar ecosystem with various online services.
Dimensions are 2980 x 1496 x 1637 mm with a wheelbase of 1960 mm and a curb weight of 743 kg. The interior can accommodate four adults. The power of the electric motor is 27 hp, the car can accelerate to 100 km/h and travel up to 200 km without recharging.
