Jet 175 Prototype

The Jet 175 was a four-wheeled buggy prototype presented in 1958 by the French company Union Industrielle, which built microcars under the Jet and France-Jet brands. It was based on the Brütsch V2 design and fitted with a Maico engine (or, according to other information, an Ydral engine). It was never marketed, probably because Brütsch improved the V2 and presented the V2N, which Union Industrielle later used.

Union Industrielle was the successor of Air Tourist, the Paris company that built Brütsch designs under licence from 1955 to 1958. Its open two-seat three-wheeler was shown at the 1955 Paris Salon and later sold as the Avolette. Egon Brütsch of Stuttgart sold licences for his fibreglass microcars throughout the 1950s; his firm made eleven models between 1952 and 1958 and about 81 cars in all.
