I.DE.A Gritta

The 1994 I.DE.A Gritta was a city car prototype styled, developed and built by the Italian design studio I.DE.A Institute.

The Gritta was a prototype of a small city car that reused the mechanical components of the Fiat Cinquecento. This approach allowed I.DE.A to focus on exterior styling and packaging while keeping the underlying technology simple and cost-effective.

It appears alongside the 1994 I.DE.A Modulaire and the 1994 I.DE.A Manente, placing it in the same period of experimental 1990s city car studies.

Like the Modulaire, which focused on modularity, the Gritta focused on a small, efficient city car format using proven mechanicals rather than a complex new platform.
