I.DE.A Manente

The 1994 I.DE.A Manente was a concept study created by the Italian design and engineering studio I.DE.A Institute. It was developed and presented as a studio concept in 1994, designed and built by I.DE.A itself.

Even with minimal documentation, the Manente is notable as part of I.DE.A’s output in the mid-1990s, a period when Italian design houses were actively exploring new compact car concepts, flexible architectures, and space-efficient packaging.

The concept appears to belong to the same wave as the Modulaire, another 1994 I.DE.A study focused on modularity and flexibility.

Unlike concepts that were heavily promoted in international press or that led to production models, the Manente remains more of a specialist studio piece.
